Alexandru Ilie

Born in a orn in a Christian family from Argeș County, Alex felt the calling for “something special” since he was a child. He became a Christian in his freshman year in high school when, besides his salvation, he also found a passion for God and people. In 2002, he graduated from the Theological Seminary and in 2003, Sociology and Psychology in Bucharest. Currently he is studying for a master’s degree in Global Leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary in USA.

He has worked as a high school teacher and principal, a National Coordinator for the Organization of the Evangelical Christian Students in Romania (OSCER), and a pastor for Petra Church in Pitești. He has volunteered for various ministries, as well as ministering to at-risk children, the elderly in the rest home in Pitești, and with sick people in the hospital.

In 2009, Alex and Nati, his wife, adopted two twins, a 7-year old boy and girl. After two more years they adopted again – two siblings, a 4-year old boy and a 3-years old girl.

In March 2015 he joined the ARFO team and has been responsible for coordinating the actions of the Alliance as an Executive Director.

“Everybody’s Christendom should be reflected in our daily living. It should be more than a theoretical or intellectual notion, but the very force that dictates each choice we make, be it living life with integrity or caring for the needy. Our love for God should lead undoubtedly to the things He loves – the people and especially the children who lack parental care.”
