Jessica Valdez is currently the Foster and Adoption Programs Director at Olive Crest in Los Angeles, California. She has just completed her 16th year at Olive Crest, where she started as an intern while getting her BS Degree in Psychology in 2000.
In 2005, she completed Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) from California State University in Long Beach and stepped into leadership by starting the Adoption Promotion and Support Services Program, which has successfully served over 650 pre and post adoptive families and children in more than 11 years.
In 2010, Jessica co-wrote a grant to start a Digital Storytelling Program for adoptive youth. Since then, more than 56 individuals have shared their powerful perspectives in the form of a 2-4 minute video, encouraging the healing that comes from sharing stories with others.
Jessica was born and raised in small city just outside of Los Angeles. Her father has been a pastor for 30 years, and who together with her mom, developed and encouraged the values of faith, family and service to others.
